Today is the day that I fly to Sydney to start a new chapter. I am excited and nervous at the same time which may be confusing and yet it can happen.
I woke up this morning early, went to the bathroom and then went back to bed to rest a bit longer which was so lovely. It meant that my nervous system is calming down after everything that has happened. When I got up during the night and came back the dear cat Delilah had walked into the bedroom and came back out so obviously I wasn’t going to have a cat sleep with me. Haha.
My friend made porridge for breakfast and then I added cinnamon and honey which was really lovely. I went back and laid on the bed scrolling through social media as I couldn’t concentrate on reading a book.
Time seemed to go fast and slow at the same time and I needed to be conscious of not watching my clock otherwise the anxiety would have been so bad.
When my friend got back from her time with friends we had the pizza that my friend’s husband cooked last night and it was just as good the second time around. Home made pizzas are the best.
I rested some more and then had a cup of herbal tea with them out on the balcony. It was so lovely to sit and watch the birds and the pool vacuum as at one stage it sounded like it was trying to get away as it climbed near the top and was sucking in water. We all had a good laugh at that.
I went back to the room as I knew that I needed me time and more rest. This didn’t mean sleeping or reading. Of course I doom scrolled again although I update a game that I play called Pikmin. This is such a good game to help me walk as you received rewards and grow Pikmin the more that you walk. I am going to try and see if I can grow flowers whilst I am flying in the plane. Will be interesting to see what happens as I will be on airplane mode.
I didn’t end up finishing this blog as I needed to board the plane which all happened so quickly even though I got to the airport early. The anxiety started kicking in big time and got worse as the day went on so I was so grateful that my friend picked up on it and was happy to drive me to the airport earlier than originally planned. I was fed by her husband before I left which was so lovely and unexpected. Man was it delicious. Raw veggies, chicken, broccoli, cauliflower and bbq chips.
It was pretty easy to go through the whole check in process considering I haven’t flown for about 5 years. I sat down and started this blog and then they were calling boarding. We ended up leaving earlier which meant we arrived earlier. Being a smaller airport that I flew out of I had to climb stairs into the airplane. I have always loved flying and so of course I was looking out of the window, as I had booked the window seat, most of the flight. We arrived 30 minutes earlier than scheduled and then I had to find my way around a big airport.
My friend picked me up and we chatted and chatted all the way on the drive catching up on everything and chatting about what would happen in the house. You know those friends that you may not see for ages and then it is like no time has passed when you catch up. That was me and my friend. When we got home I quickly put a top sheet on, said goodnight and went to sleep.
I woke up early this morning as I didn’t sleep much and then read in bed for ages. I had breakfast outside because the sun was shining and it was so nice. Where I used to live we didn’t have an outdoor dining area so this made such a lovely change.
In the photos below I tried to take some photos from the plane except my phone is a bit old and they didn’t work too well.
Time to sign off and go buy myself some pillows.
Till next time. Darleen
