5 Ways To Help You Start The Year Intuitively

There’s so much pressure to start the year with structure. To map out every goal, every launch, every next step in perfect order. But what if there was another way? A more intuitive way. A way that begins with you, not just your plans, but your energy, your wisdom, your alignment.

I want to explore five practices that have helped me enter a new year with more clarity, trust, and flow. They’re not rigid formulas. They’re invitations. Anchors. Ways to begin your year grounded in your truth and in relationship with your business, not just your calendar.

1. Connect with Your Inner Self

Before you plan anything, pause. Before you map out goals or dive into strategy, give yourself the space to turn inward.

There is so much wisdom inside you. Your intuition, your body, your heart, they already know what you need. But that guidance gets drowned out if you rush past it. So find a quiet place. Close your eyes. Focus on your breath.

Then ask:

  • How am I feeling right now?
  • What does my intuition want to tell me?
  • What is my heart truly longing for this year?

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present. Because when you start with connection, everything else aligns from a place that’s real.

2. Reflect on Your Business’s Energy

Your business is alive. It’s not just a structure or a brand, it’s an energy. And that energy wants to be in a relationship with you. Just like you gave birth to it, it has its own essence. Its own rhythms. Its own desires.

So take a moment to slow down and ask:

  • How has my business felt over the past year?
  • Does it feel in flow, or has there been resistance?
  • What kind of relationship do I have with it now?

You might even imagine your business as a person, or meet it in a visualisation. Go to your favourite place, mine is the beach, and bring your business energy with you. Sit together. Ask it what it needs. What it wants to create this year. What support it’s craving from you.

The more you connect, the more aligned you’ll feel, not just with your goals, but with the soul of your business.

3. Set Intentions, Not Resolutions

Resolutions are often rigid. They come from pressure or performance. But intentions? They come from alignment.

So as you prepare for the year ahead, ask:

  • What would feel aligned with my values?
  • What does success look like when I listen to my intuition?
  • What am I open to receiving, creating, and embodying this year?

Let your intentions be grounded in your truth. grounded in abundance. Allow them to feel spacious. Gentle. Alive. Intentions aren’t about control. They’re about direction, your own personal North Star that you can keep returning to, even when the path changes.

4. Take Inspired Action

This is where it all comes to life. Not through pushing or performing, but through presence.

Inspired action means tuning in before you act. Looking at your list or plan and asking: What feels aligned today? What’s calling for my energy? What’s ready to move?

Sometimes, that means reshuffling your schedule. Sometimes it means saying no to a plan that no longer fits. It doesn’t mean throwing out structure, it means listening to how your energy wants to meet the structure that day.

When you follow that, your actions carry more power. You stop forcing. You start flowing. And the results come, not from hustle, but from alignment.

5. Stay Open to Change and Evolution

The year ahead will surprise you. Plans will shift. Energy will move. And that’s not failure, that’s life. That’s growth. You are not meant to stay the same.

So stay open. Let your sails adjust when the wind changes. Trust that even when the plan shifts, you are still on path.

There was a time when I would beat myself up for not sticking to the plan. I thought it meant I lacked discipline. But now I know, flexibility is strength. Trusting myself to pivot is power.

Start your year aligned, yes, but let it evolve. Let your path surprise you. Let your energy lead. Because the more you listen to yourself, the more joyful your business becomes.

Final Reflections

These five ways are not rules, they’re reminders. To begin with yourself. To build a relationship with your business. To lead with trust instead of force.

So whether you’ve planned the entire year or haven’t started at all, it’s okay. You can still pause. Still connect. Still align.

Let this be the year you move from intuition, not expectation. Let this be the year your business flows from truth.
